Rt 49 Time Trial Results

The forecast was a little questionable, but we ended up riding to Waterville Valley with clearing skies, drying pavement, and a fair headwind.  Black flies were good motivation to keep moving!  Thanks for coming out and riding--the time trial up to Tripoli is a good early season tester.

5/15 Route 49 Time Trial

We're going to head over and give it a shot.  We'll see what things look like closer to the start time.

Come out and ride up to Tripoli Rd with us!

The Rt 49 TT is an individual time trial (no drafting), and riders will go off in 30 second intervals, ordered roughly from slower to faster.  Points are given in descending order (if there are 10 riders, 1st place gets 10 points, 2nd place gets 9 points, etc.)  Points go to your season tally.

Course:  The time trial is ~9.2 miles, running from the 49/175 intersection in Campton up to Tripoli Road in Waterville Valley.  The route begins fast, but includes a gradual, sort of deceptive climb from start to finish.  We'll collect times at the end, so don't forget to bring some way of timing yourself.

Course Records:  M: Jeff Litchfield, 26:16, 7/25/17   W: Ryanne Carmichael, 30:09,
7/21/15  T: John Jurczynski & Ann Benoit Jurczynski, 27:226/14/16

Let's meet at Campton Pond (just north of the 49/175 intersection in Campton) to go off at 6pm.  There's good parking at the Northway Bank on 49.  Hope to see you there/let us know if you have any questions (email at mightypemi@gmail or comment here).  If the forecast is questionable, check back here for updates by 4pm day-of.

Let's try this again - 2018 Starter Time Trial

It's almost April, which means there's a time trial coming up soon in Pemi-Baker land (If you want, you can ski before or after, but that's up to you...).  The Mighty Pemi Time Trial and Hillclimb Series is back and always open to all comers;  each ride in this series is open to anyone interested in riding for fun or fitness or just because they want to see what it's about.

Here's hoping everyone has had a good winter and spring finds you ready to keep moving.  On Tuesday, April 3rd, 10th we're shooting for the River Road Time Trial at 6pm.  We're going to reverse this TT's direction from last year, so that we'll start on the Route 3 side of River Road and head south to finish in Bristol.  We'll post more specific info. for that course here soon.  For now, see the schedule to the right-->>

Any questions?  Catch us at the ride or feel free to email us: mightypemi at Gmail.

Ready or not, it should be fun to get out there together and we're looking forward to a good season.  Come out and stretch the legs!

River Road Time Trial

Unfortunately, we're out of town for a family emergency so we won't be able to make the time trial on Tuesday.  Anyone who's still interested in doing it, please feel free to send us your times and we can post them here.

The course for the River Road Time Trial is the exact reverse of the course last year.  The start line is at the metal stakes on either side of the road just north of the old/beat up white house.  From there, it's about 8.7 miles south on River Road to the stop sign/finish line where River Road and Newfound Road meet in Bristol.

Good luck if you do make it.  Hope to see you back in New Hampshire next week.

8/30 Stinson Lake Road Hillclimb Results/Series Results

Stinson Lake Road is always a good climb to close out the Series' season.  The course's good climbing and flat, straight shot up top mirrors different parts of rides we've done all season.  Thanks to everyone who came out for the time trials and/or hillclimbs--it's a nice way to get out there and you make it easier.

1) Mark Pitts  20:15 7 points
2) Andy Havey  20:58 6 points
3) Carl Ring  21:24 5 points
4) John Jurczynski & Ann Benoit Jurczynski  21:26
5) Jordan Greenberg  23:01 4 points
6) Ed Giunta  25:05 3 points
7) Lilly Magnus  26:11 2 points
8) Kurt Magnus  26:16 1 point

Big kudos go to the one, the only, Carl Ring, who takes the Series overall as well as its time trial and hillclimb categories separately.  With increasingly stiff competition, his lead in the points is saying something.  Congrats also to the intrepid Jurczynski tandem team!  They take the category emphatically and add so much to the Series' rides.  Last but certainly not least, Ryanne Carmichael powers her way to her overall, time trial, and hillclimb wins.  Impressive especially since she started the riding season in the tandem category...
We've got the annual beer trophies to present to winners--we'll just have to figure out proper times for presentation.

Here's looking forward to the fall, then cycling and beyond in 2018...

8/22 River Road Time Trial Results

A tailwind and some strong end of season fitness led to fast times tonight despite the heat and humidity.  The Pitts family crushed the men's and women's individual course records and John and Ann bested their early season effort for a new tandem record as well.  Thanks to Jordan and Wynn for cheering and course marshaling.

Congrats to Carl who wins the Time Trial division of this year's series!

8/22 River Road Time Trial

Come join us for the last attempt at the River Road Time Trial!  We will be running the course the same way we have been previously so plan to meet at the Newfound end of River Road.

This is an individual time trial (no drafting); riders will go off in 30 second intervals, ordered roughly from slower to faster. Points are given in descending order (if there are 10 riders, 1st place gets 10 points, 2nd place gets 9 points, etc.) Points go to your season tally.

Course: This 8.7 mile time trial starts out fast, then winds itself north along the Pemi with some good dips, straights, and small hills. The course will start at the Newfound Road/River Road intersection and finish at a pair of marked metal stakes (37 River Road).  We'll be collecting times at the finish, so bring a way to time yourself.

Course Records:  M: Carl Ring, 21:32  W:  Ryanne Carmichael, 25:58  T: John Jurczynski and Ann Rasmussen, 20:45

The time trial starts at 6pm* at the Newfound Rd/River Rd intersection. If the forecast is questionable, check back here for day-of ride confirmation by 4pm.

Hope to see you there/let us know if you have any questions (comment here or email at mightypemiATgmail).
