Back At It

Hey everyone,
We're hoping to get some more skiing in yet, but the Mighty Pemi Time Trial/Hillclimb Series isn't far off.

Last season was fun and the courses/rides were right on for training, general fitness, or just fun.  Carl Ring led in the overall points, having won the hillclimb series handily and done enough of the time trials to seal it up.  We made a brief, but heartfelt presentation of a potent Smuttynose 6 pack to Carl for the win.  We hope to have more prizes for points leaders for the upcoming season, so come out and vie.
Hoping for reasonable temps, we’ll shoot for Tuesday, March 31 for the first of the series—a Short Time Trial (see scheduled rides to the right------>).

Starting early with the series is a good way to measure your progress over the season; we'll keep track of times for each of the rides.  Last season, we alternated between these time trial and hillclimb courses:

1) Short Time Trial (9 miles on Rt. 3 from Thornton into Campton)
2) Halls Brook Road Hillclimb (~1000 ft/5.3 miles)
3) Rt. 49 Time Trial (9 miles from Campton Pond to Tripoli Rd)
4) Ellsworth Hill Road Hillclimb (~850 ft/4.8 miles)
5) Long Time Trial (18 miles on Rt. 3 from Campton to Thornton and back)
6) Stinson Lake Road Hillclimb (~800 ft/5.6 miles)
7) Lost River Road Hillclimb (~1100 ft/5.2 miles)  We may substitute a different course for this hillclimb.  Keep an eye out for some sort of survey.

Each ride has its own challenges.  The goal is to make them locally accessible (i.e.-somewhat reasonable to ride to from Plymouth), anywhere from about 20 minutes to an hour to complete, and safe.

The time trials and hillclimbs can be great training tools for everything from bike racing to multisport or just fitness/fun in general.  As always: beginners and recreational riders welcome.  Any questions?  Comment here or shoot an email to us at mightypemiATgmail.  Looking forward to riding with you.
